Cognovi Labs and Kno.e.sis Predict the U.S. Presidential Election Outcome

CECS' Kno.e.sis Center developed the Twitris system which was used collectively by WSU's Applied Policy Research Institute (APRI), the Kno.e.sis Center, and Cognovi Labs to predict election outcomes, including Donald Trump’s victory and the retention of the Senate by the GOP. Media coverage of this effort included a TechCrunch article on election day, a WHI0 TV interview, and coverage in other Cox Media properties such as WXRI, an Atlanta Journal and Constitution (AJC) article on Nov. 10, and Cognovi Labs’ press release on Yahoo! Finance on Nov. 11, 2016. TechCrunch is the #1 business blog for startup and investment news from around the world, WHIO TV and WXPI are CBS-affiliated TV stations, AJC is the largest circulation newspaper in Georgia, and Cognovi Labs is a recently launched Dayton-area start up set up to commercialize the Twitris software licensed from our university. Each of these quote or interview Prof. Amit Sheth, executive director of Kno.e.sis, whose research and development team developed Twitris.
